Effective January 1, 2004, IRC Section 223 approved the establishment of HSAs to help stem the rapid inflation in the cost of Healthcare. In the time since, these plans have become increasingly popular. Sound understanding of these types of plans in a Section 125 environment especially in relation to the Affordable Care Act (ACA or Obamacare) is essential.
